Company A collects and sells a marketing list to company B for them to send marketing messages about their products/services.

This involves the sharing of personal data.

Company A needs to collect permission for Company B to market their products and services.

For email and sms, you need consent.

Direct mail and telephone – you could use legitimate interests or consent.

If Company A collects consent for 3rd party marketing by any channel, Company B will have to use consent for their marketing.

If Company A uses legitimate interests for 3rd party direct mail or telephone marketing, Company B can potentially use legitimate interests or consent.
